Guest Blogging Policy
Blogging The Law has established these guest blogging policies which apply to all guest blogging submissions.
- Word Count: All submitted blogs should be between 250 and 600 words; all guest blogs which violate the word count policy will be rejected but may be resubmitted after revision;
- Linking Rules: Each blog must contain an internal link to the Blogging The Law website http://www.bloggingthelaw.com/; each blog may contain links to the blogger’s site as long as they’re relevant and are not excessive; each author bio may contain one link to the author; please clarify any relationship your blog links have;
- Subject Matter: This blog has subject matter requirements; submitted blogs must be related to the blog’s subject matter; looking for blogs related to current news story on laws, changing laws, how laws affect the community; other subject matter may be considered;
- Republishing: The content should be original and not republished anywhere else; the content of the blog belongs exclusively to Blogging The Law with author credits; if found to be republished elsewhere your post will be removed and you will no longer be allowed to submit posts to Blogging The Law;
- Keyword Rich Text: Blogs submitted with keyword rich text will be rejected;
- Formatting Preferences: Blogs should be in short paragraphs will bullet points; blogs may use <h2> and <h3> tags; acceptable formatting tags <b>, <i>, </br>, <em>, <li>, <ul>, <ol>, <p> and <strong>; all submissions should be in HTML format;
- Affiliate Links: No affiliate links are allowed;
- Obvious Link Posts: Any blog which is a clear and obvious sales pitch for a product or service for you or your company will not be accepted;
- Quality Requirements: Blogs with spelling or grammar errors will be returned to the author for an opportunity to correct errors; revised blogs with spelling and grammar corrections will be considered for publication; all blogs should have compelling and engaging content;
- Modifying: Blogging The Law maintains the right to make minor changes to your blog without removing the salient points;
- Images: Author images are allowed with each blog submission; another image to illustrate the blog content is allowed; all images should be properly attributed and have been credited; no copyrighted images will be accepted; any blog submitted with copyrighted images will be rejected;
- Images Size: Minimum size for an image is 150×150 ppi (thumbnail), the maximum size is 300×300 ppi; acceptable images should be in jpeg file format; maximum upload size is 8MB;
- Expected Publish Date: If your blog is not received by the agreed upon date, your blog will not be posted; consideration for future blogs may be affected;
- Author Bio: Each author may include a short bio statement; an author bio should be no longer than 75 words; one link to the author’s site is allowed;
- Reject Policy: All blogs which violate any part of this guest blogging policy will be rejected; most rejected blogs may be resubmitted after adherence to proper guest blogging policies; any blog that includes any foul language, racist remarks, illegal activity or harmful language will not be considered; any blog of product or service reviews will be rejected; Blogging The Law reserves the right to reject any blog submission without explanation;
- Fees: Blogging The Law does not pay for any blogs; the published post becomes the sole property of Blogging The Law with credit to the author;
This policy may change at any moment. It is the duty of the guest blogger to keep updated on any policy changes.
